Koen Somers

The Hoge Kempen National Park is a unique nature reserve in the northeast of Limburg. An excellent place to build a golf course and build a hotel. That happened in 1980 and golfers immediately found their way to the new holes and hotel Stiemerheide. Adjacent to the English cottage style hotel, today stands a low and austere geometric building, with large windows overlooking the landscape. This is the domain of Mastercook Koen Somers.

In his starred restaurant De Kristalijn, which is built around the large open kitchen, Mastercook Koen Somers not only welcomes fellow golfers, but everyone looking for a delicious gastronomic moment in an oasis of peace and natural harmony.

He describes his kitchen as classic with modern touches and always works with what nature offers us. There are a lot of goodies in Limburg that he likes to use.
