The Hoge Kempen National Park is a unique natural area in the northeast of Limburg. An ideal spot to build a golf course and a hotel. This happened in 1980, and golfers quickly found their way to the new holes and Hotel Stiemerheide. Next to the hotel in English cottage style, stands today a low and sleek geometric building, with large windows overlooking the landscape. This is the domain of Mastercook Koen Somers.

In 'his' restaurant De Kristalijn, which is built around the large open kitchen, Mastercook Koen Somers welcomes not only golf-playing guests, but anyone looking for a delightful gastronomic experience in an oasis of peace and natural harmony.

He describes his kitchen as classic with modern touches and always works with what nature offers us. There are a lot of goodies in Limburg that he likes to use.
